Halco Customer Heats Home and Saves Money With Geothermal

Michael and Sharon Collins spent years using a combination of oil, electric heaters and propane to warm their ranch to between 61 and 63 degrees during the winter. They decided to research different renewable energy options and compared the installation and operational costs for these systems to the energy costs of their current setup. What they discovered was very surprising. By installing a new geothermal system, they could keep their home warmer in the winter, have air conditioning in the summer and over the next 10 years--it wouldn't cost them any more than what they were currently paying! The only difference is after 10 years, they would own the system--as opposed to continuing to pay for their monthly energy costs.
