Finger Lakes Works With Their Hands 2018
The 13th Annual "Finger Lakes Works...With Their Hands!" was held Thursday, October 4th at Rodman Lott & Son Farms in Seneca Falls, NY. Each year several hundred students attend this exciting event with more than 50 businesses and organizations providing hands on demonstrations and activities. At the Halco building, students could ride a scissor lift and try their hand at plasma cutting, soldering, conduit bending, and operating an excavator.
Conduit. Before the bending began.
Soldering. Tools laid out and ready for the kids to arrive!
Excavator Lessons. We added a new activity to the Halco building this year and it was a hit! Students were challenged with moving a 5-gallon bucket from one spot to another with direction from one of our skilled Excavation Technicians.
Safety Goggles. Ready for the students to wear while trying their hand at plasma cutting.
Conduit Bending. Halco owner, Hal Smith, overlooks as a student puts his entire body weight into bending 1" conduit!
Plasma Cutting. Students love to see sparks fly as they test their plasma cutting skills.
Soldering. Students get a lesson from Halco employee, Chad, on soldering.
Scissor Lift. The rain didn't stop the students from standing in line for a yearly favorite!
