Clean Energy Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an organized and reliable Accounting Specialist to handle our account closeouts and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements. This position will work out of our Phelps office closely with our accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, particularly with the closeout process, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing each invoice for revenue accuracy for accounting purpose
• Assistance with accounts receivable matters

Qualifications

• Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Experience:

1+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on account reconciliation, closeout processes, Prior experience in a mid-size or large company (100+ employees) preferred.

• Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar). Excel skills required.

• High Attention to Detail:

Exceptional organizational skills with an ability to handle large volumes of data and identify discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

• Communication:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Problem-Solving:

Ability to analyze financial data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and recommend solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the home performance, construction, or energy services industry.
• Knowledge of project-based accounting and job costing.
• Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems tailored for service-based companies.

Compensation:

$20.00 - $30.00 per hr. based on level of experience
