GENEVA, NEW YORK – The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board (FL WIB) announced today that Halco, is April’s “Business of the Month” recognizing the company’s efforts to build strong community partnerships along with their continuing contributions to the local economy.
Located in Phelps, New York, Halco is focused on providing high-quality energy solutions to residential and commercial clients. The business started as Halco Plumbing & Heating, a residential plumbing and heating service and installation contractor and has now grown into a company that designs and builds solar electric, solar thermal, wind electric, and geothermal heating systems for residential and commercial clients.
Halco is also involved with a number of local organizations throughout the Greater Rochester area, including the Rochester Business Alliance and Upstate Green Business Network. Halco’s President Hal Smith, is the current Chairman of the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board and Co-Chair of the agency’s “Finger Lakes Work With Their Hands” program which has enabled thousands of area high school students to experience firsthand, the careers in skilled-trade industry.
