My name is Matt Dennis and I have been with Halco since 2015.  I thoroughly enjoy working with folks to solve problems with their home’s energy costs and comfort issues.  I believe in making things better one house at a time and I proudly subscribe to the idea of a net zero home, where you produce as much energy as you use.  I have an air source heat pump in my own home and solar on my roof.  I have no gas, oil, or any other combustible products in my home.  So, when I say I am passionate about what I do, I truly mean it.

I am a graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in Business Economics with a focus on Environmental Management.  I am a BPI (Building Performance Institute) Certified Building Analyst, BPI Healthy Home Evaluator,  an Accredited Installer for the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), and have designed hundreds of different heating projects with a focus on both ground and air source heat pumps. 

I have two dogs, Max and Molly.  Max is a ball of energy and loves running around the yard chasing his toys or running from one end of the yard to the other.  Molly is a bit calmer and when she is not barking at the mailman, she is napping in the sunlight until someone sits down, then it's cuddle time.  She is a 70lb lap dog!

In my time at Halco, I have taken part in fixing hundreds of homes and saving homeowners thousands of dollars.  Whether it be a basic attic insulation and air sealing job, to a complex heating and cooling system, I am happy to sit and discuss your options and help you make an educated decision. I want to answer all your questions and make sure that you know and understand what the problems are in your home and how to fix them. The best solutions are not always the most obvious, so let’s figure it out together. 

One thing you will notice when I come to your home is that I use crutches to walk around.  This is due to a spinal cord injury, but no worries, I am recovering and doing fine.  Don’t be fooled, I can still get around well in most homes and have adapted fairly well, I just move a little slower.  I have not let that stop me from doing my job and helping people and I cannot wait to work with you!
