Because my usual heating company did a poor job performing annual maintenance on my furnace last year, I followed my neighbor's advice and looked into Halco. Glad I did. Not only did I find a fascinating story about you and your family, but I also had the opportunity to meet Thom Mayo.
First, I salute you and Tammy for building such an extraordinary company from scratch (especially in New York State!) and for reaching out to students interested in your profession. The May 2008 article in the Rochester Business Journal about you was a joy to read.
Second, my sincerest thanks to Thom. I've had many contractors and tradesmen in my home and Thom was one of the best. Rather than his just disappearing into the basement, we first looked at the entire heating system together and discussed various aspects of it. A lot of what he told me I had been unaware of.
The in addition to routine servicing, he ran several tests the previous heating service had never done and made adjustments to increase the efficiency of the entire system. Afterward he explained what he had done and why.
In addition to this, he discovered three small leaks in the gas line joints. Several days later he replaced the lines and again he carefully explained the details of what he was doing.
Thom impressed me so much that rather than just filling our the Customer Service Satisfaction Card, I'm writing to you directly. He is real professional and a wonderful representative of your company. I look forward to his returning whenever maintenance and repairs are needed.
