What you can expect with our no-cost home energy assessment
Our home energy assessment process typically follows these general initial steps:
One of our BPI-Certified Comfort Advisers meets with you, discusses your needs, does some preliminary diagnostic testing, and reviews your energy bills to determine the potential opportunities for energy reduction and solutions. Your Comfort Adviser also performs diagnostic tests (including a blower door test and thermal imaging), health and safety tests, and measures up building components for computer modeling. This data is then analyzed to determine your heating and cooling loads, and areas for improvement are focused on.
Based on our analysis, different energy-saving improvements, including air sealing, insulation installation in existing walls, attic, and basements spaces, to equipment repairs and upgrades such as high-efficiency water heaters, air conditioning and heating systems, are recommended. A report and set of recommendations are completed and an appointment is scheduled to present them. This report includes an analysis of all improvements, and from there, you are free to choose how to improve your home. Once you choose the improvements you would like completed, we will provide you with a free, no-obligation estimate for all suggested work.
