This 5.5 kW solar electric system was installed for a customer in Trumansburg, NY. Comprised of 20 SolarWorld solar modules, this system is designed to generate 5,374 kWh per year with a CO2 emissions savings equivalent to approximately 3,980 pounds of coal burned. The end result of this project was simply stunning!
This Newark, NY home was fitted with a 7.2 kW solar electric system that was installed as a roof-mounted array. As designed, the 22 solar panels should generate 7,339 kWh per year, where weather and seasonality are a factor in production. The energy produced by this system is equivalent to 69% of the customer's current baseload usage and from an environmental standpoint, this corresponds to a CO2 emissions savings of 9,541 lbs. per year!
This 5.7 kW solar electric system was installed for a customer in Waterloo, NY. As designed, the 20 panel ground-mounted solar array should generate approximately 6,599.9 kWh per year. Not sure just how much 6,599.9 kWh of electricity really is? Think CO2 emissions from 4,888 pounds of coal burned, 512 gallons of gasoline burned or 10.6 barrels of oil consumed!
This Ithaca, NY customer is part of Tompkins County, a community with a very large solar initiative. As customer, Kelly, and his wife researched and learned more about solar power they thought, "Why isn't everybody doing this?" After receiving a free home energy audit from Halco, we moved forward with a 6.6 kW roof-mounted solar array. In a post-project interview, Kelly stated that he was, "Very impressed with the speed of the project- it only took 2.5 days." This customer also plans to work with Halco on a second project for insulation and a heat exchange unit. All in all, Kelly is very excited about this project and is even hoping to add more solar panels in the future!
These Ithaca, NY customers decided to go solar to reduce their carbon footprint and to make their home more energy efficient and sustainable. With that in mind, our solar technicians installed a 4.7 kW roof-mounted array that is designed to generate 4,819 kWh per year. This system's energy production is equivalent to 95% of the customer's current baseload usage, which corresponds to a CO2 emissions savings of 5,782 lbs. per year!
